Requirements to Play
From PsyHelp
Contents |
[edit] No Flash
Flash is not required, however there is a single, unique item in the entire game which uses Flash (to play some chime sounds). If you happen to visit that resident's profile, Flash will be used, but again is by no means required. Without it you only miss out on chime noises when viewing that particular resident's in-game profile.
[edit] No Java
PsyPets has, in the past, hosted a Java-based chat room. It has since been taken down, however, and so no part of the site uses Java at this time. While it may again in the future, it will not be required for routine usage of the site.
[edit] Javascript
PsyPets makes heavy use of Javascript (not to be confused with Java). It is possible to disable Javascript in many browsers, or with some very-paranoid security software. Disabling Javascript will probably ruin your experience with many web sites. PsyPets is one such site.
[edit] Making Sure Javascript Is Enabled
[edit] Firefox 3
From the "Tools" menu, select "Options...". The window which pops up will have several tabs. The "Content" tab (shown below) contains the "Enable JavaScript" setting, which of course needs to be checked.
[edit] Internet Explorer 6
From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options...". The window which pops up will have several tabs. Go to the "Security" tab (show below), and click "Custom Level...". The window which pops up contains a rather unwieldy list of options. Near the bottom is a series of "Scripting" options (shown below). Make sure that "Active scripting" is set to "Enable"
