- Introduced the day before Talk-Like-A-Pirate-Day, 2007
- Appear randomly
- Stop the fishing process and demand an item
- "Give them what they want" will take item from Storage and leave behind a Piece of Eight
Jolly Roger
- Have nine or more Pieces of Eight in a non-protected room (like the Common Room) and the required item in Storage
- Pirates will take Pieces of Eight and not the required item and leave behind a Jolly Roger
Notes

- Original ransom demands were occasionally out of hand. Since then, the list of items (and maybe the frequency of pirate appearance) has been tempered to be a little more reasonable.
