Leveling up

Leveling up is the process of answering a question about your pet that will further its current skill set once it has gained enough experience, leading towards your pet's self-actualization. Pets gain experience by completing activities at home and successfully completing park events, and can only gain experience when all of their other needs are met.

Each pet tends towards one of six specialties - gathering, hunting, defeating, crafting, inventing, and building - and as such, your answer will depend on the skills that you would like it to develop in an attempt to become more successful at their chosen specialty. Each of these skills relies on different stats.

Basic Stats

A few of the known basic stats are Skill, Athleticism, Speed, Extroversion and Intelligence.

Personality stats include extroversion and conscientiousness.

Other stats include Hardiness and Endurance.

Some stats have to be at a certain level for a pet to use a tool or weapon. If the pet hasn't reached this level yet it will say so in the item description (Encyclopedia) or when trying to equip a pet with this item. Each description stands for one to three different stats.

For example an equipment needing nimbleness will allow some pets to equip, others not. image:nimble.png
Another equipment might need strength, so other pets will be able to equip, but the same message is given. image:strength.png

Descriptions given by equipment and the skills they can refer to:

  • athletic (strength, nimbleness, athletic skill)
  • intelligent (intelligence, technology skill)
  • tough (wild survival skill, fighting skill, hardiness)
  • perceptive (alertness, quick-wittedness)
  • creative (artisan skill, smithing skill)
  • sneaky (sneaky skill)

Skill

This stat represents how much your pet knows about doing as task such as hunting or inventing. To raise this stat, look for answers that sound as if they are related to knowledge about a skill such as correcting a computer code for inventing.

A few skill-based items include...

Strength

Strength is, of course, how strong your pet is. This most effects tug of war and brawling park events as well as hunting and adventuring. Pets with high strength tend to do more hunting and adventuring than other pets and are a little better at building sometimes.

Currently this is lumped into "athletic" with nimbleness and athletic skill. If It says your pet is not athletic enough and their strength is good, try raising nimbleness.

Most armors have a strength requirement and most swords are strength-based weapons. A few examples are...

Speed

Speed is how fast your pet is. Most speed raisers also raise endurance. Speed effects gathering and hunting as well as distance races, brawling and capture the flag park events.

Generally, speed-based weapons are rare. Most require nimbleness instead.

Intelligence

Also called "quick-wittedness", this determines how smart your pets are. This stat is used most during strategy games and crafting events in the park as well as in gathering, inventing and crafting at home.

Most intelligence items are either magical or use high technology. A few of them include...

Nimbleness

Nimbleness is not how fast your pet can move, but how flexible they are. It effects gathering, hunting, and the dancing park events.

Currently this is lumped into "athletic " with strength and athletic skill. If It says your pet is not athletic enough and their nimbleness is good, try raising strength instead.

Most Nimbleness weapons are ranged weapons. They include...

Perception

This skill related to how good your pets are at noticing things. Whether it's noticing a ripe orange on a branch, spotting a hidden Dust Bunny, or noticing that their friend has a new haircut, perception is useful for all types of pets.

Some items which grant perception are:

Here you can find a complete list of equipment that increases perception, aswell as list of professions that use this stas.

Personality Stats

These stats determine how pets interact with its environment. They are not associated with any hourly activities and no weapons require these stats.

Extroversion

This stat is how your pet relates with other pets. Pets with high extroversion can replenish the love gauge of pets inside the house. To level this stat, look for answers that tell you about the friendliness of a pet.

Conscientiousness

This stat used to lower the chance of pets breaking items. Since pets no longer break items, the effects of this stat are relatively unknown. It is speculated that pets with high conscientiousness would perform hourly activities closer to their skill level or eat foods that are closer to full meals.

Other stats

Hardiness

Hardiness is how well a pet can tolerate extremes. A hardy pet can keep hunting or fighting longer than a less hardy pet can.

A few hardiness items include...

Endurance

This relates to how long a pet can keep running or building. Pets with higher endurance tend to build bigger add-ons and are better at distance races. Most speed raisers also raise Endurance.

Pet Size

Pet size is how big your pet is. Each pet takes up available space in the house equal to his or her pet size. Unlike other stats, this stat can be seen next to your pet's name in the house. Larger pets may be better at Tug-A-War park events.
